Saturday, June 5, 2010 Parade to be held in downtown LaFollette. Time will be determined at a later date. However, the classmates who are interested in marching with their class are asked to meet behind Cross' Funeral Home at 9 a.m. Parade will be lead by Barney Fife in his "squad car", followed by the local Honor Guard. Next, if you ever played in LHS band, an "Over the Hill Gang Band" is being organized to participate in the parade. Mary Jane Lobertini '60 will be the organizer for this band. Please contact her if you are interested in participating. The March of the Classes (marchers to meet behind Cross' Funeral Home at 9 a.m.) will follow the band.
The Mayor's welcome and Proclamation is next and will be held at the Municipal/City Building and Park area followed by some welcoming speakers.
Afternoon, evening and night in downtown LaFollette will be filled with entertainment, bands(several bands are being considered....most of them locally), food vendors. Local TV channel 12 and the FM station will be interviewing attendees. Plans are that the interviews will be shown and broadcast locally.
It's very possible that a video of LHS Homecomings will be created and played during intermissions on a "big screen" TV. More on that as the plans develop.
Sunday, June 6, 2010 Breakfast and Closing Ceremony in downtown LaF. Your Alumni fees will cover the breakfast.
Closing Ceremony will include a Community Choir (with audience participation), other musicians and a speaker to be named at a later date. Our deceased alumni will be named and honored at the Closing Ceremony.
The LHS Alumni Board hopes to have an informational meeting sometime in November. When the date is firmed up, I will let you know.
